I am an Academic Specialist at the Asian Studies Center, Michigan State University.

Earned a Ph.D. degree in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Maryland College Park (UMCP), my research interests include the impacts that social media has on teaching and learning, educational technology, world language teacher education, teaching Chinese as a world language (online and face-to-face), and multicultural literature. Previously, I worked as an Associate Professor of the Department of Teacher Education, Director of the Online Chinese Program at College of Education at Michigan State University, and Facutly Research Assistant at the National Foreign Language Center.

I earned M. A. and B.A degrees in Chinese Classical Philology from Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Peking University, China. I always prefer a communicative approach in language teaching with a focus on providing meaningful and comprehensive input in real life context. I believe that the proliferation of technology can benefit students in multiple dimensions, especially in an online or distance environment.
